Besides active carbon, the Blue Pure Particle and Carbon Filter contains exactly the same particle filter media as our stand-alone Blue Pure Particle Filter. The 46.2 square feet, enormous filter area, works its hardest for a long, long time. It’s also less dense, with millions of ultra-thin fibers of different sizes in different layers. The result: higher airflow and higher capacity.

Active carbon kills odors

You can smell odors, but not volatile organic compounds which are gaseous chemicals. It doesn’t actually matter since the Blue Pure combination filter effectively eliminates both. In addition to a huge particle filter, you also get an odor-and-gas-eating active carbon mesh.
